Questions we are asked about this
Why do my lights flicker?
One flickering fixture usually means a bulb, socket, switch or dimmer problem. Flicker across several rooms usually means a loose connection on a shared circuit, in the panel or in the service, and should be checked promptly.
Why do my LED lights flicker on a dimmer?
The dimmer is probably designed for incandescent bulbs, or the bulbs are not compatible with it. A dimmer rated for LEDs usually fixes it.
Why does my recessed light turn off by itself?
Older recessed fixtures have a thermal protector that shuts the light off when it overheats. The bulb may be too powerful, insulation may be too close, or the fixture may be failing.
Is a hot light switch dangerous?
A dimmer can feel slightly warm in normal use. A switch that is hot, crackles or smells is overheating and should be replaced.
Do you repair landscape lighting?
Yes. We troubleshoot transformers, timers and photocells, corroded connections and damaged buried cable, as well as the exterior circuit that feeds them.
Should I repair or replace a light fixture?
If the fault is a switch, socket or connection, repair is usually simple. If the fixture is heat damaged, corroded or hard to get parts for, replacing it is often the better value, and we will tell you which applies.
Do you offer same-day lighting repair?
